In light of the COVID-19 pandemic over the last couple of years, at our clinic we understand the precautions that are necessary to take in order to maintain a safe environment. Our office is sanitized on a daily basis and masks are required for all unvaccinated individuals.
Because of the structure of our services and interventions, we do typically require that the first two or three sessions take place in-person, face-to-face, in order to proceed with appropriate assessment and treatment services. Due to our highly specific, “hands-on,” mind and body relaxation techniques that are a core part of treatment process, in-person sessions are necessary to learn and gain sufficient understanding of the routines.
However, like other clinics, we make a conscious effort to transition our care from direct services to a telehealth platform once the initial evaluation is complete and our clients have been able to learn some of our core mind-body relaxation techniques and are able to practice these relaxation skills at home. Our clinic utilizes platforms that include video conferencing, such as Zoom and Skype, to host telehealth sessions.
